Where this started
The company began in 2009 in Eugene, moving students in and out of housing around the university. That is genuinely where Moving Fellows comes from, and it is why we are unusually good at the parts of these moves that go wrong — buildings that need a lift booked, leases that end on the same Saturday as everyone else’s, and belongings that need somewhere to go for three months.
What has changed is the company around it. These are the same crews, equipment and standards we bring to a family moving house. We are not a budget option and we do not staff jobs with whoever is available — the reason the service works is that it is run properly.
What these moves usually involve
Most combine two or three of these.
Apartment and shared housing
Buildings with lift bookings, loading zones and certificates of insurance. We handle the building before we handle the boxes.

Summer, a term abroad, or a gap between leases. Inventoried in, held securely, redelivered on your date.

Full or partial. Useful when the move happens during finals or when a parent is coordinating from out of state.

Do you move graduate students and faculty households?
Yes, and it is a large share of this work. A postdoc moving a full household across the country is a different job from a first-year moving into a dorm, and both are quoted the same way — a walkthrough, then a written price.
My child is at university and I am arranging this from another state. Can you deal with them directly?
Yes. We can take instructions from you and coordinate the day with them, or the reverse. It is worth telling us at the quote stage so the calls go to the right person.
Can you hold belongings over the summer?
Yes. Storage is inventoried in and redelivered on a date you choose. Book earlier for June and August — those weeks fill first in Eugene.
Is this a lower-tier service than your regular moving?
No. It is the same crews, the same equipment and the same standards. What changes is the timing and the access, not the level of care.
