What it covers

Every move produces a pile nobody planned for

The sofa that will not fit the new living room. The exercise bike. Three cans of paint and a mattress. It appears in every move and it is almost never in the plan.

Handling it separately means booking a second company, on a second day, for a job the crew standing in your driveway could have done in forty minutes. Handling it on the same visit means you hand back an empty property and get on with your move.

It also works as a standalone job. A garage, a basement, a rental turnover or an estate clear-out does not need a moving truck attached to it.

What we take

  • Furniture and mattresses. Including the ones that are awkward to get out.
  • Appliances. Fridges, washers, dryers and ranges, disconnected and removed.
  • General household clear-outs. Garages, basements, sheds and lofts.
  • Office furniture, alongside a commercial move or on its own.
  • Yard and renovation debris in reasonable quantities.
How it works

Point at it and it goes

Tell us roughly what there is

Photographs are usually enough for a standalone haul. If it is part of a move it gets covered in the walkthrough.

A price before we load

Quoted on volume and what the items are. You approve the number before anything goes on the truck.

We do the carrying

You do not need to move anything to the kerb. We take it from wherever it is, including basements and lofts.

Sorted, not just dumped

Usable furniture and appliances go to donation where they will be accepted. Metal, cardboard and electronics go to recycling. The rest is disposed of properly.

Being straight

Where it stops

Junk removal is straightforward work with a few genuine hard limits, most of them legal rather than practical. A crew that agrees to take everything is a crew that is going to fly-tip something, and that is your name on the paperwork, not theirs.

So there is a short list of things that do not go on our truck, and we will tell you at the quote rather than on the day.

What we cannot take

  • Hazardous waste. Paint, solvents, fuel, oil, pesticides, pool chemicals and asbestos. These need a household hazardous waste facility.
  • Medical and biohazard waste, including sharps.
  • Tyres and vehicle batteries in quantity.
  • Ammunition and explosives.
  • Anything requiring demolition rather than removal. Taking a deck apart is a different trade.

Questions

Junk removal, answered

How is it priced?

By the volume it takes on the truck and what the items are, because disposal costs differ. You get the number before we load, not after.

Do I need to carry it out first?

No. We take it from wherever it is, including basements, lofts and back gardens. That is most of what you are paying for.

Where does it actually go?

Usable furniture and working appliances go to donation where they will be accepted. Metal, cardboard and electronics go to recycling. What is left goes to landfill, which we would rather be the smallest part.

Can you take just one item?

Yes. A single mattress, a fridge or a sofa is a normal booking and does not need a move attached to it.

Can you do it on the same day as my move?

Yes, and that is how most people use it. It gets built into the move quote so you are not organising a second visit.

Need it gone?

Send us a couple of photographs and we will quote the haul.
