Moving Fellows is a moving and storage company serving the Portland metro area and Eugene, Oregon.
Moving Fellows is a trading name of Cal’s Moving Help, LLC, which also trades as Cal’s Moving & Storage. Cal’s Moving Help, LLC is the company responsible for the personal information described in this policy. When you contact Moving Fellows you are dealing with one business: the same team, the same systems, and the same people answer enquiries, prepare quotes and carry out moves under either name. Some of our internal systems, email addresses and staff accounts therefore carry the Cal’s name, and our employees handle Moving Fellows enquiries as part of their ordinary work. That is our own operation, not an outside company.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to contact us about it.

The information we collect
When you contact us or request a quote. Our contact form asks for your name, email address and telephone number, and gives you space to describe your move. Our quote form also asks where you are moving from and to, your preferred move date, the size of your move, and any notes you want to add — stairs, a piano, parking, that sort of thing.
You choose what to put in those fields. We ask only for what we need in order to quote accurately and plan the work.
When you call us. Calls with our team may be recorded. We use recordings to confirm the details of your move, to resolve questions about what was agreed, and to train our staff. If you have questions about call recording, including whether a recording of your own call exists, contact us at the address above.
Text messages. We send text messages to customers about their own move only: following up on a quote you asked for, confirming scheduling and appointments, giving you appointment details, and keeping you updated while your move is in progress. Message and data rates may apply.
We do not send promotional or advertising text campaigns. You will not receive marketing offers, discounts or newsletters by text from us. If you no longer wish to receive text messages about your move, tell the member of our team you are dealing with, or contact us at the address above, and we will stop.
Automatically, when you browse. Like most websites, ours records technical information through Google Analytics: the pages you visit, approximately where you are, the device and browser you use, and how you arrived.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
- To plan and carry out your move, if you book with us.
- To confirm what was agreed and resolve any questions afterwards.
- To keep a record of enquiries and jobs for our own business administration.
- To understand which pages of our website are useful, so that we can improve them.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to the ones above.
Analytics, email and site technologies
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how people use the site. It stores a randomly generated identifier in your browser. That identifier does not contain your name, but it is specific to your browser and can be used to recognise the same visitor across pages and visits, so we treat it as information about you. Google processes this on our behalf and may also use it in accordance with its own terms.
Cloudflare Turnstile runs on our forms to tell real visitors apart from automated spam. Cloudflare receives technical information about your request in order to do that.
Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site, which means your IP address reaches Google’s servers when a page loads.
Email. Emails from this website — including the confirmation you receive after using our contact form — are delivered by our email provider, Postmark. We do not track whether you open our emails or which links you click.
This site does not currently display a cookie or consent banner, and the analytics described above runs for all visitors. You can prevent it through your browser settings or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, as described below.
We do not use Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, social media tracking pixels, or cross-site advertising trackers.
Where your information goes
We do not use your details for advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share customer details with advertising or marketing platforms for advertising purposes. We do not build advertising audiences from our customer list.
Handled inside our own business. Your enquiry is handled by our own team and our own systems, under both the Moving Fellows and Cal’s names. That is not sharing with anyone outside the business.
Service providers. Beyond that, what we share is the minimum each of our suppliers needs in order to run the business. These are service providers acting on our instructions, not advertisers:
- SmartMoving — our customer relationship system. Enquiries are sent here so that our team can follow up, quote and schedule.
- Postmark — sends the email notifications and confirmations generated by this website.
- Our telephone and messaging providers — carry our calls and text messages, and store call recordings and message history.
- Google — website analytics and typefaces.
- Cloudflare — spam and bot protection on our forms.
- Hostinger — our web host, which stores the website and its database.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights.
How long we keep it
Website enquiries. Enquiries submitted through the forms on this site are stored in our website database. We are introducing a 12-month limit on how long we keep them there, and will update this policy to confirm it once that deletion runs automatically.
Lead transmission. When an enquiry is transmitted to SmartMoving, the copy of its contents in our website’s delivery log is deleted immediately after the transfer succeeds. We keep only a record that the transfer happened.
Backups. We keep backup copies of our website and its database so that we can recover from a failure. Information can remain in a backup for a period after it has been removed from the live system.
Other records. Records in our customer relationship system, our accounting records, call recordings and message history are kept on their own schedules, separate from the website figures above.
Your choices and requests
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@movingfellows.org or call (971) 253-5275, and tell us enough about your enquiry or your move that we can find it.
You can ask us to stop sending you text messages. You can ask us about call recording. You can prevent analytics collection through your browser settings or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
