Springfield sits on the east bank of the Willamette, immediately east of Eugene, and it is not one uniform place to move in or out of.
Thurston
Eastern Springfield along Highway 126, backing onto the Thurston Hills. Mostly detached family housing with driveways and decent access — the easiest part of Springfield to move, and the part where the household is usually largest. These are full-day, three- or four-bedroom jobs more often than not.
Gateway
North of the river near the I-5 interchange, and the most commercially developed corner of the city. Good arterial access and easy on and off the freeway, which matters if your move is leaving Lane County. A lot of newer apartment stock here too, which brings the usual apartment considerations — lift bookings, loading bays, certificates of insurance.
Glenwood
The strip along the Willamette between Springfield and Eugene, mid-redevelopment from industrial land into a mixed-use waterfront district. Access varies street by street here more than anywhere else in the city, and it is the one part of Springfield where we always want to look at the block before quoting.
Downtown Springfield
The historic core around Main Street. Older buildings, narrower kerbs, and on-street loading rather than driveways. Worth confirming where a truck can sit before the day.
